All of us are so busy, going to work, tending to family or studying that we rarely get any time to look after oneself and even if we get some spare time, we don’t tend to ourselves. Many think that looking after oneself is selfish and not needed as long as others get what they want even if it’s at the expense of sacrificing ourselves we think that is satisfactory what we don’t realize is that as much as others or other things need our attention same goes to our body and our health. Only when we love ourselves and give ourselves enough attention can we really look after others or other things
Looking after oneself doesn’t have to be a hassle, you don’t have to think that it is going to require a long time. On the contrary it’s a few changes that goes along way, some of the ways that we can look after oneself are:
Getting enough sleep
This is so important, an adult requires at least 8 hours of sleep, a proper sleep with no disturbance. Sleep is a way how our body recharges and recovers itself after a tiring day which is why it is very important to give the body its relevant sleep times. One might think that it’s very difficult to get a good sleep with a busy day, to solve this first organize your day, try to sort out the things and tell yourself that by this time you will be done it might be difficult at first but you will get used to it.
Eat nutritious food
It’s very easy to grab a bite outside but foods consumed outside are very unhealthy, to give your body the energy it needs you have to eat a balanced nutritious diet. It won’t take a long time, eat your veggies and fruits and take the appropriate amount of carbohydrates, proteins and fats.
Exercise
One of the leading causes of many health issues is eating of junk food and lack of exercise. To keep the body in a good condition it is advised to engage in a physical activity at least 3 times in a week at least for 30 minutes
Dental health
Good oral hygiene is vital to keep your teeth in good condition. For this you have to brush your teeth properly, floss and pay a visit to the dentist too.
Mental health
Being to kind to oneself is the key to happiness, only when you look after your mental health can you be completely happy. Love yourself and treat yourself, look into the mirror and talk good words to yourself, meet up with people who you like, go for shopping if you like, go for a massage and spend time engaging in something spiritual.
Hydration
Hot days make you feel tired the reason for this is dehydration, this shows that water intake also affects your energy levels. Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day to keep yourself hydrated.
